>> Research Interests:

1. Molecular design of protein hydrogels, oleogels, aerogels for food replacements

2. Bioactivity and biological fate of protein assemblies

>> Profile:

Yiping Cao received his PhD from ETH Zurich in 2020, where he worked on the gelling and reversible properties of protein nanofibrils. He then spent two years as Postdoc Fellow and Associate at MIT, focusing on the design of high-performance protein-based thermosets and plastics. In 2022 he was appointed as an Associate Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University to start a group on protein structure and functionalities. He is a recipient of the SNSF Mobility Fellow in 2020, the ETH Medal in 2021, and the NSFC Excellent Young Scientist in 2021.
