Research Interests:

The development of multicellular organisms relies on the coordination and cooperation of individual cells. Division or differentiation of these cells is largely determined by the positional and developmental information, such as intercellular signals from adjacent or distant cells, and protein subcellular localization within cells. The inter- and intracellular communication-based cooperativeness maximizes the fitness for multicellular organisms to external environmental conditions.

The transcriptional regulators, which were supposed to function cell-autonomously, have been progressively reported to act as mobile signals to coordinate proliferation, differentiation, and programmed cell death during plant development. My interests are to investigate how inter- and intracellular trafficking of mobile transcriptional regulators control plant development and to identify trafficking regulators that either promote or inhibit the trafficking of these mobile signals.
