The major mainly focus on food raw material, food processing, and quality control and safety of food consumption & circulation, etc. We aim at training students to be talents with theories and practical abilities of modern life science and food science & engineering. Our main research interests include: food safety, storage and processing of primary products, function foods, diary science and technology, etc.
This program is affiliated with the department of food science and technology. It owns the primary discipline level Master’s program of food science and technology, and two sub-discipline level Master’s programs: one is food science, the other is storage & processing of primary products. With several years of development, we have achieved profound influence in the field of food science. Currently, we own The Luh Bor. S. Research Center of Food Safety and Joint US-Sino Food Safety Research Center as our international collaboration institutions. W have established numerous famous universities and institutions in USA and Holland and other countries, in the form of regularly sending faculties, Ph.D. degree candidates and Master degree candidates to those universities and institutions for training.
After graduation, students could be Master or Ph.D. degree candidates in the fields of food science & engineering, biotechnology and biochemical engineering, or to take positions like research & development, production management, quarantine inspection, quality inspection and so on in businesses and ministries related with food processing, biochemical engineering, biomedicine, commodity inspection, quality inspection, quarantine administration and so on.
