报告人简介:

Bruce M Applegate earned his B.A. and Ph.D degree from University of Tennessee and joined Purdue University from 2001. Now he is the associate professor of department of food and biological sciences.

His research interests are:detection of viable foodborne pathogens using bateriophage; automated extraction of nucleic acids from various matrices; enumeration of microorganisms (i.e. pathogens and other organisms) using quantitative PCR; the use of bioreporters in bioelectronics; metabolic engineering; detection of problematic microorganisms in industrial environments; construction of recombinant bacterial strains to rapidly evaluate antimicrobial products; microbial ecology.

He won many awards & honors in past years: NASA Inventions and Contributions Board Award. NASA (2009), Seed for Success Award. Vice Provost for Research (2005), Seed for Success Award. Vice Provost for Research (2005).

He has more than forty publications.
