Molecular Horticulture

Molecular Horticulture (eISSN: 2730-9401) is a newly launched horticultural journal co-published by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Springer Nature Group under an open access publishing model; its inaugural issue went online officially on June 16, 2021, and the journal has been indexed in 22 databases including DOAJ, Scopus, PubMed Central and SCIE, while it was also selected for the High-Impact New Journal Project under the 2023 Outstanding Action Plan for Chinese Scientific and Technological Journals. It attained a CiteScore of 8.0 and a 2023 Journal Impact Factor (JIF) of 10.0, ranking No.1 in the field of horticulture (1/38) and No.6 in plant science (6/265). Focusing on molecular regulatory mechanisms, the journal attaches importance to translational research spanning model plants to horticultural crops, building a global academic exchange platform for scientists conducting horticulture-related research and boosting the translation of fundamental horticultural research with molecular breeding at its core into practical applications. Colleagues worldwide are warmly welcome to be our readers, authors or reviewers.

Aims and Scope

The journal publishes cutting-edge molecular findings on the genetic development, quality metabolism, stress physiology, evolution and breeding of horticultural crops (fruits, vegetables, flowers, ornamental and medicinal plants). It focuses on translational research from model plants to horticultural crops and encourages the application of modern technologies in horticultural studies.

Scope coverage includes but is not limited to: Developmental and Evolutionary Biology; Plant Physiology, Biochemistry and Cell Biology; Plant-Microbe Interactions; Plant-Environment Interactions; Genetics and Epigenetics; Molecular Breeding and Biotechnology; Secondary Metabolism and Synthetic Biology; Integrated multi-omics analysis of genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, epigenomics and microbiomics.

Available manuscript types include Research Articles, Letters, Reviews, Editorials, Commentaries and Perspectives.
