Dr. Yi-Min Shi, from Yi-Xin City, Jiang-Su Province, is the Professor of Landscape and Engineering Science Department in School of Agriculture & Biology, the director of Ornamental Plant Research Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the member of Shanghai Audit Center of Quality System and the member of Ornamental Plant Consultation Committee of National Forestry Bureau. 


His researches are in bulb flowers breeding and cultivation, focused on the Hyacinthus, Tulipa, Narcissus, Hippeastrum etc. He is now engaged in research projects: Bulb flowers Breeding and Cultivation, Bulb Flower Sources Harvest and Keeping from Shanghai Agricultural Committee etc.


He published about 50 research papers in journals such as Scientia Horticulturae, Acta Botanica Sinica, Acta Phytophysiologica Sinica, Acta Horticulturae Sinica and Journal of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Agricultural Science), finished about 30 research projects and got the Second Prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Award, 5 agricultural technology standards published by Shanghai Quality and Technology Bureau, about 10 Chinese patents got letters patent. With the hard and long period of work, he bred first tulip cultivar and first hyacinth cultivar in China and now 8 new flower cultivars bred. He received an honor of distinguished teacher at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
