The summer school of Shanghai Jiaotong University in 2016-The learning about China’s food safety was started

On the morning of July 18, 2016, the opening ceremony of the summer school of Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Agriculture and Biology in 2016 with the duration of two weeks (from July 17, 2016 to July 31, 2016) was held on the 8th floor of the Network Information Center Building. The opening ceremony was presided over by Deputy Dean of the School of Agriculture and Biology Che Shengquan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Agriculture and Biology Qi Hong, Dean Zhou Pei, Deputy Dean Che Shengquang, Deputy Dean Zuo Kaijing et al. and professors of relevant specialties attended the ceremony. The summer school about China’s food safety attracted more than 80 students for participation from U.K., Sweden, Italy, Taiwan, Hong Kong and mainland China.

 

First of all, Dean of the School of Agriculture and Biology of Shanghai Jiaotong University Zhou Pei delivered a welcoming speech to the students, and gave an introduction to the history, culture and professional spirit of the School of Agriculture and Biology of Shanghai Jiaotong University, which made the students have a preliminary feeling about scientific research power and the features of internationalization of the School of Agriculture and Biology of Shanghai Jiaotong University. The dean also encouraged the students to actively participate in our internationalization projects, continuously expand the field of view, and cultivate internationalized academic level. 

Following the speech made by Dean Zhou Pei, Deputy Dean of the School of Agriculture and Biology Zuo Kaijing gave a detailed introduction to the students in terms of specialty power and achievements of the School of Agriculture and Biology of Shanghai Jiaotong University in the field of food safety, presented his hope that the students can study hard and experience it with heart and soul in the summer project, and also expressed his wish that student could establish precious schoolmate friendship at the same time when they acquire valuable knowledge and experience during the learning period in a foreign country.

After that, the experts from several famous institutions engaged in food science in America and China gave an open class with a unique style in terms of food quality safety to the students. The wonderful reports made by the leaders and teachers aroused great expectation of the students towards learning in the coming half a month. 

 

 

In the summer school about China’s food safety, abundant and wonderful specialized courses and practical training activities were arranged for the students, including specialized courses relevant to food safety and technology and etc., base practical training, visits to famous food enterprises and food and drug administration and etc. Such arrangements aim to make the students deepen the understanding of China’s food safety field and the correct understanding of present situation of China’s food safety while they learn and exchange specialized knowledge, apply knowledge to practice, experience knowledge in practice, feel unique culture of China and Shanghai at the same time, and teach through lively activities.
