ABSTRACT

Professor Ari Jumpponen applies multi-omics techniques to work on fungal biodiversity and ecosystem services. He has led more than 30 research projects funded by the United States Department of Agriculture, the Department of Energy, and the European Union. He has published over 200 SCI papers in journals such as Nature, Mycologia, Journal of Avian Biology, Phytopathology, and Fungal Ecology. Additionally, Professor Ari has been recognized as one of the top 2% scientists globally, with a total of about 20,000 citations and an h-index of 66. This presentation will focus on fungal diversity and functional characteristics in forest ecosystems, revealing the mechanisms by which mycorrhizal fungi enhance vegetation resilience.
