Dr. Tang got his Bachelor degree in Genetics
from Sichuan University in 1985, his master
degree in Plant Genetics and Breeding from
Beijing Agricultural University in 1988, and his
Ph.D degree in Plant Biotechnology from
University of Nottingham, UK in 1996.
The main research areas: 1) Plant
Bioreactor; 2) Plant Metabolic Engineering; 3)
Gene Cloning and Transgenic Plants.
In recently years, Dr. Tang presides
over 10 research projects including China
National ¡°863¡± High-Tech Project, China
Transgenic Plant Research and Commercialization
Project, Sino-UK Science and Technology
Collaboration Fund to work on plant bioreactor,
plant metabolic engineering, gene cloning and
transgenic plants. He has published 200 papers
in domestic and international scientific
journals including 140 SCI papers such as PNAS,
PLANTA, TRANSGENIC RESEARCH, CELL RESEARCH,
PLANT SCIENCE, BIOINFORMATICS, MOLECULAR
BIOTECHNOLOGY and JOURNAL OF PLANT PHYSIOLOGY.
He has over 60 patents applied or granted by
China.
