Resume：Zhu Jianguo, male, born in 1962, PH.D, Visiting Scholar studied in University of Michigan, Professor of Shanghai Jiaotong University, mentor of Ph.D student , research interests is focused on Application of gene engineering and antibody engineering for prevention and control of animal disease and zoonosis.
From 1984 to 1992, worked as a veterinary medicine technician for eight years, taking charge of prevention and control of Bovis Tuberculosis and Brucella infection ;
From 1992 to 1995, studied as a graduated student in Veterinary college, Yangzhou University, China. The Master thesis titled "Research in Monoclonal Antibody of IBV";
From 1995 to 1998, was assigned as an associated professor in Zhengzhou College of Animal Husbandry Engineering(ZZCAH), rewarded as excellent young teacher in 1997;
From 1998 to 2001, studied as a Ph.D candidate in graduate school of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Science(CAAS) , majored in application of molecular biology for preventing and controlling animal disease , the thesis titled " Research of sexual specific expressive gene and its function of Schistosoma japonicum Chinese strain" From 2001 to 2008, was assigned as associated professor and mentor of master student in the Department of Veterinary, Shanghai Jiaotong University ；
From 2007 to 2008, studied as a visiting scholar in Department of immunology and Microbiology, University of Michigan；
Since 2008, have been assigned as professor and mentor of Ph.D student in Shanghai Jiaotong University .
I took part in the works to compile some teaching books for bachelor students major in prevention and control of animal disease, such as "Quarantine of Food Microbiology" "Quarantine of food sanitation" " Veterinary Pathology" and other programming books of high agricultural college. I am now teaching some courses for different students , such as "Veterinary Pathology" and "Preventive Veterinary" for undergraduates; "Modern Immunity" and "Zoonosis & Public Health" for graduated students; "Advance of Research in Zoonosis" and "Molecule Immunity" for Ph.D students. Since being assigned as mentor of graduated student in 2002, I have being directed 15 graduated students, eleven of whom have gotten Master degree, one of whom obtained the honor of Chinese national excellent dissertation of Master degree, and the other one gotten a honor of Shanghai excellent dissertation of Master degree. I also gotten 1 third class honor of reforming project in teaching.
Our primary research interest is to understand pathogenesis and immunology of infectious diseases and develop vaccines and antibody against pathogenesis. Much of my academic achievements can be credited to my solid command of a wide variety of basic principle and skills in immunology, microbiology and molecular biology such as Recombinant Antibody, Monoclonal Antibody (McAb) , McAb-based ELISA, McAb-based Immunofluoresence, PCR , gene knockout and other molecular techniques. After finished the research projects " Research of standard examination method of AIV from animal product" and "study on the standard way to detect campylobacter jejuni in animal products ", we have established two standard methods such as RT-PCR way to detect avian influence virus in animal products , and Real time–PCR way to detect Campylobacter jejuni in animal products , both of which have been certificated by the authorities ; When the projects "Research of fast detection and cure of Kidney type of IBV" and" Development of novel monoclonal diagnosis kit for IBV" were finished, I developed the RT-Nest-PCR method for detection of IBV in infected chicken tissues, which have been used in the animal model research program for study the infection mechanism of coronavirus. I also took part in and finished the two National High Technology Research and Development Program("863"Program) of China, including "Study on the key measure to prevent and control Eperythrozoon" , and "Study on the DNA vaccine of Shistosoma japonicum"; I also directed and finished two projects "Study on the mainly immunogenicity proteins of Mycobacterium bovis " and "Application of synthesized measure to prevent and control Mycobacterium bovis in Ningxia area", six secreted proteins in Mycobacterium tuberculosis have been identified and proved to have significant antigenicity, they have been further used to develop the indirect ELISA to detect serum antibody of infected animals; I am now directing the projects "Study on the biological pharmaceutical to prevent and treat mastitis of milk cow " and "Raybiotech-SJTU antibody engineering research", 6 of scFv antibodies against IBV have been identified and further function study of them are being ongoing.
Achievement and award:
I undertake researching one National High Technology Research and Development Program("863"Program) of China,"Study on the key measure to prevent and control Eperythrozoon" , obtaining the second award of scientific and technological progress of Chinese Ministry of Education ; I also undertake researching other National High Technology Research and Development Program("863"Program) of China "Study on the DNA vaccine of Shistosoma japonicum"; obtaining the first prize of scientific and technological progress of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences; I have had more than 100 papers published , including16 SCI cited and 4 EI cited papers . I also gotten 8 patents authorized ny china .
